Background
Reconfigurable Intelligent Surface (RIS) is a kind of artificial electromagnetic surface structure with programmable electromagnetic properties, which is developed from the supermaterial technology.
RIS technology can break through the uncontrollable characteristics of traditional wireless channel, realize active control of wireless propagation environment, control and enhance or eliminate the direction of signal propagation in three-dimensional space, suppress interference and enhance signal, and construct a new paradigm of intelligent programmable wireless environment.
As a potential basic key technology, RIS has the characteristics of low cost, low power consumption and easy deployment. It will support green communication and enable intelligent wireless environment. RIS will have the opportunity to enhance 5G-A networks and bring a new communication network paradigm to 6G by building an intelligent and controllable wireless environment.
On February 12th, 2023, the 2nd RIS TECH FORUM will be orgnized in Crowne Plaza Hangzhou HEDA, Qiantang District, Hangzhou, Zhejiang Province.
The conference will be held in hybrid mode including both F2F and remote participation. More than 30 experts including academicians, professors, industrial leaders, and policymakers from all relevant fields will attend this forum.

On September 24th,2021, the 1st RIS TECH FORUM hosted by China Institute of Electronics on Communication Society and jointly hosted by ZTE, Southeast University and China Unicom was held in Beijing. This large-scale academic conference has promoted the technological research and industrialization in RIS field, strengthened the exchange between experts and scholars and industrial needs, and greatly enhanced the impact of RIS technology in the industry and its future application prospects.
On April 7th, 2022, RIS Tech Alliance (RISTA) inauguration ceremony and the 1st General Assembly of the RISTA were successfully held in Beijing.
The RISTA is a cross-industry, open, and non-profit social organization that is formed by enterprises, public institutions, associations, colleges and universities, and scientific research institutes related to RIS on the basis of voluntariness, equality, and mutual benefits.
With the aim to build an RIS ecosystem together with all relevant entities, the Alliance is committed to promoting the research, standardization, and industrialization of RIS-related technologies.
The “RIS TECH FORUM” was confirmed as the annual brand meeting of RISTA at RIS Tech Alliance (RISTA) inauguration ceremony and the 1st General Assembly.
