Prof. Tie Jun Cui (IEEE Fellow) received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Xidian University, Xi’an, China, in 1993. He was awarded a Cheung Kong Professor by the Ministry of Education, China, in 2001, received the National Science Foundation of China for Distinguished Young Scholars in 2002, and became the Academician of Chinese Academy of Science in 2019. Currently, he is the director of the State Key Laboratory of Millimeter Wave of Southeast University, the deputy director of the Academic Committee of Southeast University, the director of the Institute of Electromagnetic Space of Southeast University, the Standing Committee Member of the 13th Jiangsu Provincial People’s Congress, and the member of the Central Committee of Jiusan Society. In addition, he is now the director of Stealth Camouflage Professional Committee of China Ordnance Engineering Society, the deputy director of a department of Science and Technology Commission of Ministry of Education, the member of the Academic Committee of Pengcheng Laboratory, the member of the Academic Committee of Zhangjiang Laboratory, the member of Discipline Assessment Group of Academic Degrees Committee of The State Council, the member of Engineering Science Intersectional Expert Group of Ministry of Science and Technology, and the member of the Basic Research Expert Committee of the Science and Technology Commission of the Military Commission.
Prof. Cui has conducted systematic and in-depth research on electromagnetic metamaterials and electromagnetic scattering modeling of complex targets and complex environments, and has made a number of innovative achievements. He has taken the lead in undertaking the major projects and key projects of the National Natural Science Foundation, the National Key Research and Development Program of “Transformative Technology”, the key projects of the Science and Technology Commission of the Military Commission, the National 973 Plan, the National 863 theme project, the National Science Foundation for Distinguished Young Scholars, the major project of the “Supporting Plan” of the Ministry of Education, the project of the “Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Plan” of the Ministry of Education, the pre-research project of the General Equipment Department, the National Defense 973 project, the National Defense 863 project, etc.
Prof. Cui is the first author of books Metamaterials – Theory, Design, and Applications (Springer, Nov. 2009); Metamaterials: Beyond Crystals, Noncrystals, and Quasicrystals (CRC Press, Mar. 2016); and Information Metamaterials (Cambridge University Press, 2021). He has published over 500 international journal papers such as Science, Nature Electronics, Nature Communications, Proceeding of National Academy of Science of the United States, National Science Review, Light: Science and Applications, Physical Review Letters, Physical Review X, Advanced Materials, and IEEE Transactions series, which have been cited by more than 43500 times (H-Factor 106; Google Scholar), and 30 of which have been selected as the highly cited paper. Prof. Cui received the Natural Science Award (first class) from the Ministry of Education, China, in 2011, the National Natural Science Awards of China (second class, twice), in 2014 and 2018, respectively, and the Military Science and Technology Progress Award (first class) in 2016. His research results have been published many times in the special reports of Nature Electronics, National Science Review, Nature News, Scientific American, Discovery, New Scientist, MIT-Technology Review, etc.

Jiangxing WU, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the Director of China National Digital Switching System Engineering & Technological R&D Center, the Dean of Big Data Research Institute and Big Data Experimental Field Research Institute of Fudan University, and the Leader of the Innovation Team of State Science and Technology Progress for “Network Communication and Switching Technology”. He was awarded the First Prize for National Science and Technological Progress for three times and the Second Prize for the National Science and Technological Progress for four times in addition to the First Prize of the National Teaching Achievement Award. He received the Prize for Scientific and Technological Progress from Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation and the Prize for Scientific and Technological Achievements from the same foundation. Wu’s team has been recognized in honor as the Innovation Team of State Science and Technology Progress. He was awarded the National Excellent Scientific and Technological Worker, the National 863 Program Outstanding Contributor, the National Science and Technology Research Program Outstanding Contributor, and the National Young and Middle-aged Experts with Outstanding Contributions. Prof. Zhang is a Fellow of the Academy of Engineering, Singapore, an X.Q. Deng Presidential Chair Professor of The Chinese University of Hong Kong, Shenzhen, a Provost’s Chair Professor of NUS,and a Fellow of IEEE. Dr. Rui Zhang received the B.Eng. (First-Class Hons.) and M.Eng. degrees from National University of Singapore, and the Ph.D. degree from Stanford University, Stanford, CA USA, all in electrical engineering. From 2007 to 2009, he worked as a researcher at the Institute for Infocomm Research, ASTAR, Singapore. Since 2010, he has joined the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of National University of Singapore, where he is now a Provost’s Chair Professor in the Faculty of Engineering. His current research interests include UAV/satellite communication, wireless power transfer, reconfigurable MIMO, and optimization methods. He has published over 450 papers in the field of wireless communications, which have been cited more than 70,000 times, with the h-index over 120. He has been listed as a Highly Cited Researcher by Thomson Reuters / Clarivate Analytics since 2015. From 2016-2017, she was the Drafting Group (DG) Chairwoman of the ITU-R IMT-2020 channel model and led the drafting of IMT.2412 Channel Model Section. Now she is the Chairwoman of China IMT-2030 tech group – channel measurement and modeling subgroup, the vice Chairwoman of RISTA, and the leader of the RISTA software and algorithm group.

Xin Su, Ph.D, senior engineer. He has been engaged in the research and standardization of physical layer technology of wireless mobile communication systems such as NR and LTE/LTE-A. Since 2013,he served as the leader of large-scale antenna system group of IMT-2020 (5G), and now he is the deputy leader of ISAC group of IMT-2030 (6G). As the project leader or technical leader, he has undertaken a number of major national science and technology projects, national key research and development projects and 863 projects on multi-antenna technology for 4G, 4G enhancement, 5G and 6G. Currently, his interests focus on the research and standardization of NR FeMIMO in 3GPP, as well as the research, technical verification and standardization of multi-antenna technology for 6G system.

In 2020, he co-founded two emerging technology initiative committees of IEEE ComSoc RIS and aerial Communication, and was invited by the world’s first 6G Research and Innovation Center for an invited talk. He also served as a member of the international expert group of Finland’s national 6G Flagship Program White Paper. In 2021, he was invited to serve as the chair of the first Asia-Pacific Young Professional Committee of IEEE ComSoc.

Dr Arman Shojaeifard has extensive experience in research, development, and standardization of radio transmission technologies, protocols, and architectures. He is currently an R&I Senior Manager at InterDigital, responsible for the radio interface R&D at the Future Wireless Europe lab. He also serves as the Chair of the ETSI Industry Specification Group on Reconfigurable Intelligent Surfaces (ISG RIS). He served as the Technical Manager of the Innovate-UK/CELTIC-NEXT European collaborative R&D project on AIMM (AI-enabled Massive MIMO) between 2018-2022. Prior to InterDigital, he was a Principal Researcher and 3GPP RAN1 WG Delegate at British Telecommunications plc. Dr. Ertugrul Basar received his Ph.D. degree from Istanbul Technical University in 2013. He is currently an Associate Professor with the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Koç University, Istanbul, Turkey and the director of Communications Research and Innovation Laboratory (CoreLab). He had visiting positions at Ruhr University Bochum, Germany (2022, Mercator Fellow) and Princeton University, USA (2011-2012, Visiting Research Collaborator). His primary research interests include beyond 5G and 6G wireless networks, communication theory and systems, reconfigurable intelligent surfaces, index modulation, waveform design, and signal processing for communications. In the past, Dr. Başar served as an Editor/Senior Editor for many journals including IEEE Communications Letters (2016-2022), IEEE Transactions on Communications (2018-2022), Elsevier Physical Communication (2017-2020), and IEEE Access (2016-2018). Currently, he is an Editor of Frontiers in Communications and Networks. He is a Young Member of Turkish Academy of Sciences (2017) and a Fellow of IEEE (2023). Dr. Dinh-Thuy PHAN HUY is currently a research project manager in Orange Innovation/Networks entity. She received the degree in engineering from Supelec, in 2001, and the Ph.D. degree in electronics and telecommunications from the National Institute of Applied Sciences of Rennes, France, in 2015. In 2001, she joined France Telecom R&D (now Orange Innovation), Châtillon, France. She has contributed to and led several collaborative research projects on 5G. Long Li is a professor and doctoral supervisor of Xidian University, China. He is the winner of Shaanxi Outstanding Youth Fund and Shaanxi Youth Science and Technology Award. He is mainly engaged in teaching and research in the electromagnetic fields and microwave technology. His research directions include electromagnetic metamaterials, wireless power transfer and harvesting, electromagnetic compatibility, new antennas and microwave devices, OAM vortex wave, and so on.
